Envy disbands CSGO division days after receiving immense criticism of management
CMD368 – Envy has revealed its decision to “bid farewell” to their Counter-Strike division. This comes just days after the organization received a lot of criticism surrounding how they’d handled their roster over recent years. It’s important to note that this decision was apparently revealed to the team last week which was before the recent criticism.
Can confirm that last week, I had to give @kuben_tt the news that we were unfortunately releasing our current CSGO team. We are still willing to apply a good budget to CS for the right opportunity in the future. No one would be happier than me if that comes in 2021. https://t.co/Mq5mQFMEj5

With the roster being disbanded, this puts Noah “Nifty” Francis, Buğra “Calyx” Arkin, Jakub “Kuben” Gurczyński, Nikola “LEGIJA” Ninic, Michał “MICHU” Müller, and Thomas “Thomas” Utting all out on the market. The official statement states that the organization “plans to evaluate its future roster options and continue conversations to improve the Counter-Strike competitive scene with tournament organizers like B Site and CS:GO developer Valve.”
Today we bid farewell to Envy CS:GO.
Thank you to all of our players & staff for your time and dedication while on Envy. We wish you all the best in the future.

Envy made their first step into CS:GO in 2015 with the signing of the LDLC lineup that won DreamHack Winter 2014. This would lead to the organization earning a Major trophy at Dreamhack Open Cluj-Napoca. Things would begin a downward trajectory for the team at this point and they would ultimately cut ties in 2018 with the organization moving to North America for Counter-Strike.
Despite having some well-known names in the North American scene, Envy never really cemented itself as a top contender in the region or globally and continued to make major changes, rebuilding their lineup to no avail time and time again, leading to the current situation.
