Iceiceice will not be playing in ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia

CMD368 – With ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia quickly approaching, Fnatic have announced that their offlane player, Daryl Koh ‘iceiceice’ Pei Xiang will be taking a break from the game for a short time – and a stand-in for the event.

Fnatic have recently seen a huge roster change, with Marc Polo ‘Raven’ Luis Fausto returning to the team and the first instance where we would see them in action would be the upcoming ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia. However, the team have now confirmed that they will be without one of the region’s most famous players and their offlaner, Daryl Koh ‘iceiceice’ Pei Xiang. Announced via their Twitter a short time ago, the player will be taking a break until the Dota 2 Pro Circuit returns – which there is currently no expected time of arrival on.

In place of iceiceice, it was also confirmed that ex-T1 player Lee ‘Forev’ Sang-don would be playing for Fnatic through the event, standing-in in the offlane role. Forev has, most recently, been a part of T1 but has been amongst some extremely well-known squads such as Team Secret, Digital Chaos, J.Storm and most well-known, MVP Phoenix. The full Fnatic lineup for the upcoming event is:

  • Marc Polo ‘Raven’ Luic Fausto
  • Kam ‘Moon’ Boon Seng
  • Lee ‘Forev’ Sang-don
  • Djardel ‘DJ’ Mampusti
  • Anucha ‘Jabz’ Jirawong

ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia is set to begin on August 20th, 2020, with the 12 teams starting their group stage run. Fnatic will be looking to continue what has been a rather splendid year with a string of first place finishes as well as a second and third place finish at their most recent events. It will be interesting to see if Forev can quickly adapt to the Fnatic squad as they will be going up against the likes of T1, Geek Fam, TNC Predator, Royal Never Give Up and many more who could cause them some major issues in the event.
