‘Impact’ could be the new top laner for Evil Geniuses
CMD368 – The month of December has just begun, but the ‘Free Agency’ season is still running, and despite many teams have already completed their rosters for the upcoming new year, there are some important movements to be made.
The last rumor talks about a veteran of the North American LCS: Jeong ‘Impact‘ Eon-young. The South Korean top laner was announced last month to be parting ways with Team Liquid after three years of service with the organization, and from that moment, his future was a question mark for everybody.
Today, we announce the departure of our top laner, @Impact. He has brought us up to the top for the past 2 years and to our best performances at Worlds this year. We’re deeply thankful and proud of the legacy you have created with us. See you on the rift. pic.twitter.com/A7xzkqfxB2

But now, according to the Spanish Esports Website ‘Esportmaniacos‘, Impact could have found a new home. The sources of this website claim that Impact will be the new top laner for Evil Geniuses, after Heo ‘Huni‘ Seung-hoon left the tem to join Team SoloMid a couple of weeks ago. ‘Impact’ is a veteran player, who has managed to win the LCS four times with Team Liquid, and has been an important player for teams like Cloud9 or SK Telecom T1, with which the top laner won the Season 3 World Championship.
With this movement, Evil Geniuses would have filled one more empty spot in their roster for the upcoming 2021 season, as Dennis ‘Svenskeren‘ Johnsen, Daniele ‘Jiizuke‘ di Mauro, and Lee ‘IgNar‘ Dong-Geun have already been confirmed by the organization. For the ADC position, there is no official confirmation, but according to the renowned Esports journalist Jacob Wolf, Lawrence ‘Lost‘ Sze Yuy Hui, current bot laner for the TSM Academy team, could be the chosen one.
