Masaros joins Fnatic as their offlane player after iceiceice left the team

CMD368 – Having lost their offlaner earlier this year, Fnatic have played multiple events with a stand-in. Having played multiple events with stand-ins, Fnatic have now confirmed their latest addition to fill the offlane position roster will be Masaros.

In September, following a few up and down results, Daryl Koh “Iceiceice” Pei Xiang departed from the Fnatic roster – and has since joined Evil Geniuses. However, this left Fnatic without a full squad, with Djardel “DJ” Mampusti moving into the position 5 hard support role and requiring a stand-in for their follow-up events. The team have now confirmed that the offlane role has been filled, picking a player from the recently strong Motivate.Trust Gaming.

In a post made via the organisation’s Twitter, Fnatic confirmed that Natthaphon “Masaros” Ouanphakdee would be filling the hole made in their squad by the departure of Iceiceice. Having a rather short career in Dota 2, Masaros begun playing for ALPHA Blue in 2017. Following this the Thai player moved onto Buriram United before settling in with Motivate.Trust Gaming in February this year. This proved to be one of the best moves possible as MtG have begun to show some extremely great talent in recent Southeast Asia events – beating out many of their opponents.

Fnatic’s latest roster is as follows:

  • Marc Polo “Raven” Luis Fausto
  • Kam “Moon” Boon Seng
  • Natthaphon “Masaros” Ouanphakdee
  • Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong
  • Djardel “DJ” Mampusti

Jabz also recorded a special message for their newest addition, which was also posted to the Fnatic Twitter and can be seen below.

Unfortunately for MtG, this will see their roster now remain incomplete for the time being, while Fnatic will now look to hopefully return to their spot amongst the top teams of the region and in the world. The team currently are not registered for any tournaments but it will be interesting to see them all back in action on the Dota 2 stage very soon.
