Nigma’s Miracle shines as they take down Alliance in an epic game

CMD368 – Day two of the European Upper division at the Dota Pro Circuit League Season 1 would see only a single series – but it was a massive one, with Alliance and Team Nigma both in their first match.

Yesterday we saw the EU upper division of the DPC League kick off, with Team Liquid and Team Secret claiming their first two victories for the season. Today, however, would only see one series as Nigma and Alliance went head-to-head – both hoping to get their DPC season off to a great start. While Nigma had the clear advantage due to their great form in 2020 against Alliance, the DPC is always sure to produce some amazing action.

A fantastic first game of the series from Alliance was seen as both Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov and Linus “Limmp” Blomdin destroyed the Nigma lineup with a Wraith King and Batrider respectively. Although Nigma did find one small opportunity to turn the game around near the 25-minute mark, Alliance held their ground and secured a 1-0 series lead. However, not to be outdone, Nigma’s next game was a complete stomp as they tied things up with a 33-4 score line in game two. Amer “Miracle-“ Al-Barkawi’s Slark was miles ahead of everyone – ending unstoppable at 21-0-4 as Alliance crumbled.

Alliance seemed set on making the Batrider and Wraith King combination work, picking it for the third time in the series, while Nigma went again with the Slark for Miracle-. While Nigma’s picked seemed to work for them as they pulled into a massive lead again, they seemed to be far sloppier and bolder, opening the door for Alliance to find their way into the game. As the game progressed, Alliance found more and more openings into the game as Nigma faltered again and again.

However, Alliance were not able to utilise their strength against a fantastic Nigma draft – with captain Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi edging closer to finishing the all-hero challenge with a support Void Spirit. The 2-1 victory for Nigma secured them a great start to the DPC League season as they look towards their next challenge of Team Liquid on January 23rd. For Alliance, a long break is on hand as they will only play again on January 30th – when they take on OG.
